Smart Factory is a comprehensive platform built in accordance with the principles of the Industry 4.0 concept. It is a space for the interaction and cooperation of the academic sphere with industrial partners, built at VŠB-TU Ostrava within the project “Platform of new technologies FEI CPIT TL3”.
Includes simulation, virtual commissioning, optimization, and scenario verification for industrial operations and layout changes.
The team supports industrial partners from concept design to deployment-ready validation using the lab robotic platforms and production test workflows.
The lab supports both 2D and 3D vision tasks including industrial inspection and bin-picking-oriented guidance workflows.
Suitable for transport automation, collaborative logistics, and testing of mobile robot deployment in realistic factory layouts.
Used for digital twin exploration, operator support, remote assistance, and low-latency connectivity experiments in industrial environments.
Includes Photoneo 3D scanner for bin picking and machine vision applications.
Used for simulation, virtual commissioning, and optimization before physical deployment.
Supports digital twin exploration, maintenance support, and industrial communication experiments.
The lab operates 10 industrial robots used for assembly, disassembly, precise measurement, bin picking, and educational robotic cells.
Capable of independent navigation throughout the laboratory for mobile intralogistics scenarios.
This latter was a remarkably large and beautiful animal, entirely black, and sagacious to an astonishing degree. In speaking of his intelligence, my wife, who at heart was not a little intelligence, my wife, who at heart was not a little..
A system to collect and convert solar energy embedded in road pavements into internal energy in a liquid medium for building heating and domestic hot water production.
Next-generation heat storage system using phase change materials, adapted to modern carbon-free heating and cooling systems.
A comprehensive, generic diagnostic system for monitoring and prediction of rail component conditions, developed with Škoda Digital and FavorLogic.
