The CyberCert-CZ project represents a significant form of cooperation between academia and an industrial partner, implemented jointly by VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and the Electrotechnical Testing Institute, state enterprise (EZÚ), under the strategic umbrella of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB). This cooperation combines the university’s research and expert capacities in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, penetration testing, and security analysis with EZÚ’s long-standing certification, testing, and accreditation practice. The aim of the project is to build national capacities for conformity assessment in cybersecurity, in particular a certification body and a testing laboratory capable of operating in accordance with the European EUCC certification scheme.
The project thus creates a practical bridge between academic know-how, industrial certification practice, and the national security priorities of the Czech Republic. The significance of this cooperation lies primarily in its contribution to strengthening the Czech certification infrastructure, developing professional competencies, preparing accreditation processes, and increasing the trustworthiness of ICT products on both the Czech and European markets.
