The PROTECT (Perinatal Research for Optimal Treatment and Enhanced Clinical Technology) project aims to enhance feto-maternal care through advanced technology and comprehensive research. The project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of experts in obstetrics, neonatology, and computer science from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and University Hospital Ostrava.

It seeks to deliver three main outcomes: 1) the PROTECT dataset — a unique, comprehensive collection of critical parameters including signals, medical records, and neonatal parameters; 2) the PROTECT Fusion system integrating conventional CTG features with novel digital biomarkers using advanced AI techniques; and 3) the PROTECT study evaluating the impact of the Fusion system on clinical decision-making.
